
Prestigious Appointment for Patrick Strainge Butcher
Bampton butcher, Patrick Strainge, has recently been appointed a member of The Worshipful Company of Butchers’ Guild, M.Inst.M. The Worshipful Company is the meat industries’ professional body. Membership is open only to Butchers who have many years of experience in the meat trade and who have been awarded Membership of the Institute of Meat.
A Member of the Guild is entitled to the designation of the appropriate Grade of Membership after his or her name, and to display an individually scribed Membership Certificate depicting the Heraldic Arms of both the Worshipful Company of Butchers and the Institute of Meat.
Patrick Strainge, who has won a large of number of awards for his meat and meat products at national level competitions, is also a member of the Q Guild of Butchers and the Federation of Meat Traders.
The Patrick Strainge shop, based in Bampton, Oxfordshire, specialises in providing prime meat reared on local farms. From a farming family, much of Patrick’s stock comes from farms still owned by members of the Strainge family. As well as being an experienced butcher, Patrick Strainge is also an animal specialist and is regularly asked to judge livestock competitions at local agricultural shows.
